Brigham and Woman's Hospital, The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Children's Hospital
The Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) is a 613-bed hospital for adults, located in the Longwood Medical Area of Boston. The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute , across the street from BWH/CH, provides over 150,000 outpatient clinic visits/infusions annually. The DFCI also licenses 27 inpatient beds at the Brigham and Woman's Hospital. The Children's Hospital (CH), located adjacent to BWH, is a 290-bed hospital for children. The Department of Radiation Oncology for the BWH/DFCI/CH complex is split between two locations. The BWH site houses two linear accelerators, an HDR unit, a dedicated total-body-irradiation unit, and a Novalis stereotactic therapy system. Two additional linear accelerators are housed at the DFCI site, alongside active multi-disciplinary outpatient clinics. Unique opportunities for residents include MRI-guided brachytherapy implantation for prostate and gynecologic malignancies, MRI-based simulation coupled with intensity modulated radiation therapy as well as participation in cooperative group Dana-Farber Harvard Cancer Center clinical trials.

Massachusetts General Hospital
The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is an 868-active-bed hospital for adults and children, located in downtown Boston. In 1996, the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center combined with the BWH/DFCI to provide cancer care for inpatients and outpatients, and further collaborative research. The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Radiation Oncology houses five linear accelerators, an HDR unit, and the NorthEast Proton Therapy Center. Unique experiences at the MGH Department of Radiation Oncology include training in the use of charged-particle proton radiotherapy in the management of tumors of children and adults, including prostate cancer, retro-orbital tumors, and paraspinal cancers. The MGH Department of Radiation Oncology is one of the leading participants in the national clinical trials group, the RTOG.

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is a 408-bed hospital for adults located in the Longwood Medical Area. The BIDMC Department of Radiation Oncology, located on the hospital's East Campus, houses three linear accelerators and a newly commissioned Cyberknife. Unique opportunities for residents include both intracranial and extracranial stereotactic radiation therapy.

Boston Medical Center
Boston Medical Center is a 547-bed academic medical center located in Boston's South End. The Department of Radiation Oncology at BMC is staffed by four Massachusetts General Hospital-appointed radiation oncologists, and houses two linear accelerators. This facility provides the resident with a broad exposure to disease presentations in the underserved community. These presentations are often more advanced and as a result technically more complicated to manage.

This complex of hospitals provides comprehensive multi-disciplinary care to more than 12,000 new cancer patients annually. Currently at the combined Harvard Cancer Care system, there are over 330 open adult therapeutic clinical trials and 70 pediatric clinical trials.
